Mapping the Invisible
An attuned, trauma-informed space for couples, families, friends, polycules, collaborators, and other relational systems, interested in exploring unseen dynamics through a somatic approach.
Many of the forces shaping our lives and relationships are invisible, even though they deeply influence the way we relate to ourselves and each other. They effect our sense of safety, connection and possibility. They may be protective patterns, wounded or fearful parts, unspoken loyalties, conditioning, assumptions, cultural roles and social norms, longings, boundaries, tension, family dynamics, beliefs, grief, love, resentment, or fear.
We often feel their effects long before we understand them.
This is a form of relational somatic systems work that invites these unseen dynamics into awareness through embodied experience. We slow down, listen to the wisdom of the body and the system, and create enough safety for what is present to reveal itself.
Depending on the situation, we may work with the people directly involved, with representatives, with pillows or other objects representing parts of the system, or with a combination of these approaches.
I hold a space of curiosity, presence, and deep listening. Alongside careful observation and somatic awareness, I listen to bodies and patterns, and and the wider system, and offer reflections. Together, we explore what the system is communicating and what might support greater clarity, safety, integrity, and choice. Making the invisible visible often opens up new possibilities.
The goal is not to repair every relationship or satisfy everyone involved. Sometimes what emerges is a path toward deeper connection; sometimes it’s the need for clearer boundaries, distance, or letting go. Our bodies usually carry the answer. We listen for what is already there and what supports greater coherence and a deeper sense of safety for each individual.
I pay particular attention to power dynamics and work at the pace of the person carrying the greatest vulnerability or trauma activation. Rather than ‘fixing’ anyone I attune to what is needed to create more safety and clarity.
LGBTQIA+ affirming – alle identities and relationship structures are welcome.
